Description: The ReKon research project aims to develop innovative, scalable pre-treatment and recycling solutions for mechanical recycling. The project focuses in particular on waste and input streams from the automotive, energy, electronic components, single-use plastics and material composites from the healthcare/pharmaceutical sector that are not yet industrially recyclable. There is currently a lack of largely recyclable solutions for technical plastic components in particular, although the recycling of technical plastics, which have a large ecological footprint as a primary material, makes particular sense from a sustainability perspective. This is where the ReKon project comes in, using an innovative approach to create the possibility of obtaining high-quality recyclate grades from previously unrecycled technical end-of-life plastic components. This involves the holistic optimisation of all process steps along the entire value chain.
