Know polymer materials, understand interrelationships, optimise processes and end of life

Our lectures provide a sound insight into the relationships between the microstructural composition of plastics and the macroscopic processing, utilisation and recycling properties. Another focus is on material testing and plastics analysis. In addition, the manufacturing and processing methods, end-of-life and new-life options and materials as well as products are ecologically assessed.

To optimise learning success, we use laboratory exercises, self-produced video material, 3D animations and modern presentation and working techniques. The IKK offers the lectures ‘Polymer Materials including Materials Testing Laboratory’, ‘Recycling Technology’, ‘Imaging Materials Testing’, ‘Chemical Analysis of Plastics’, ‘Bioplastics and Biocomposites’, ‘Sustainability Assessment I’ and ‘Sustainability Assessment II’, i.e. also ‘Sustainability Assessment in Practice’.
